The Northern Research Forum (NRF) invites young researchers to submit proposals for the Breakout Session "A world without ice - Visions for the future" which will take place during the Arctic Circle Assembly, October 13-15, 2017 in Reykjavik, Iceland.
NRF provides an international platform for an effective dialogue between members of the research community and a wide range of other stakeholders. The main mission of the NRF is to address critical issues and highlight opportunities which face people living in the regions of the Circumpolar North. NRF emphasizes open discussion and the participation of young researchers. The above breakout session is intended for young researchers only. Their role is two-fold; to present their own research and summing up the session and thereby contributing to the seminar's summary report.
Eligibility and Application Process:
Building on the Northern Research Forum established program, young researcher are defined as recent PhD recipients or PhD candidates involved in exploring global themes of relevance in the north or conducting research in the Arctic.

Presentations at the breakout session will be approximately 12 minutes, depending on the extent of participation and the allotment of time by the Arctic Circle Organizers. Session participants will be required to submit their written papers for an online publication of the session's material by September 15, 2017. Language of the session and all related material will be English.
